New York, NY – Seven providers from AdvantageCare Physicians (ACPNY), one of the largest primary and specialty care practices in the New York metropolitan area, were spotlighted for their exceptional contributions to the practice during the organization’s Provider Recognition Awards held in July.
Twice a year, this program recognizes the contributions of ACPNY’s diverse community of providers who demonstrate commitment and excellence to patient care, community service, education, and leadership throughout New York City and Long Island.
ACPNY’s Provider Recognition Committee awarded providers from diverse care fields—including internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, optometry, nursing, and nutrition.
“Our providers make a difference within the communities they serve every day,” said Dr. Navarra Rodriguez, president and chief medical officer of ACPNY. “We take pride in providing access to care in convenient office locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and across Long Island. Through early detection, routine screenings, and checkups, ACPNY providers help patients maintain their health and better manage chronic illnesses.”
Below are the recipients of the ACPNY 2023 July Provider Recognition Awards:

President's Award for Service Excellence: Qian Gu, MD was awarded by the President of ACPNY in recognition of provider’s ability to meet and exceed care delivery expectations by enhancing the patient experience and delivering exceptional quality care to every patient. |

Executive Team's Award for Physician Leadership Excellence: Sophia Bichotte-Ligonde, MD was awarded by the Execute Leadership Team of ACPNY in recognition of physician’s demonstration of leadership values through clinical and service contributions that enhance and improve care delivery, patient access and employee engagement and growth. |

Community Volunteerism Award: Bessie Thomas, OD was awarded in recognition of provider’s ability to demonstrate ability to engage the community we serve and enhance the health and wellbeing of the community. |

Mentorship and Education Award: John Meer, MD was awarded in recognition of provider’s ability to enhance care team and provider professional growth and development opportunities through mentorship and educational activities. |

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award: Rogelio Alonzo, NP was awarded in recognition of provider’s ability to demonstrate ability to drive cultural competence, improving access to care, and creating a more inclusive workplace, through greater understanding of whom we serve. |

Patient Experience Excellence Award: Rachel Yam, RD, CDN, CDES was awarded in recognition of provider’s selection by their patients and peers to deliver compassionate and highly recommended care that enhances the patient experience.. |

Rising Star Award: Samantha Bosse, MD was promoted to an AdvantageCare Physicians provider within their first 3 years of employment at AdvantageCare Physicians who delivers compassionate care and exhibits professional growth that enhances healthcare delivery. |
