Whole-you care, safely

Caring for the whole you is constant and it means providing you with access to the right type of appointment, at the right time, in the most effective way. To keep our commitment to your care, we’ve made quick and significant changes to our care delivery approach. So, whether you visit an office in-person or see your provider virtually, you can feel confident about receiving your care in a safe setting that follows the guidelines from the New York State Health Commissioner and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. You also have an important role in this partnership. Learn more about what we’re doing, and how we’re counting on you to help.

What to expect from us

  • Staggered appointments to limit the number of patients in an office at any one time.

  • Expanded access to virtual visits and telephone check-in visits, especially for patients who should remain at home.

  • Designated waiting rooms or hours for our most vulnerable patients.

  • Lab hours by appointment only.

  • Calls reminding patients how to be prepared for their visit to reduce time in the office.

  • e-Check-in allowing touchless appointment check-in.

  • Waiting areas modified for cleanliness and safe social distancing.

  • Exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned with EPA-approved disinfectants after each use.

  • Increased sanitization of high-touch areas— door handles, restrooms, front desk area, waiting room chairs, and entrance doors.

  • Stricter maintenance and sanitization of employee areas.

  • Additional hand sanitizers throughout the check-in and waiting areas.

  • Frequent and thorough hand hygiene, face masks, and social distancing.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when caring for patients.
  • Offering Sani-Wipes® to patients to wipe down chairs or doorknobs.
  • Temperature and symptom checks for all staff and patients entering the building.

  • Plastic shields/sneeze guards for all check-in areas.

  • Patients must wear masks or face coverings. If they do not have one, ACPNY will provide a mask.

  • Reminders about hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and social distancing protocols.

  • Hand sanitizer, tissues, and trash cans at each check-in area and throughout corridors.

  • Frequent rounds by facility staff to empty trash receptacles.

  • High-risk patients seen in exam rooms closest to entrances to limit exposure to office environment.

What we need from you

  • Be honest about your current health care situation and concerns. This information is necessary to ensure you receive the proper care.

  • Come prepared to discuss your symptoms at appointments — whether in-person or virtually.

  • Schedule an appointment prior to arriving at our office. Walk-ins are not accepted at this time.
  • For COVID-19, do not enter our offices if exhibiting symptoms or illness, or if you suspect COVID-19 exposure. Instead, call our offices at 866-749-2660.
  • For routine, non COVID-19 related appointments, please first call 646-680-4227 for direction on seeking care and for scheduling a virtual visit.

  • Request virtual visits and telephone check-in visits as a means of receiving care when possible.

  • Virtual visits are just as effective as most routine in-person visits.

  • Call Center staff can help guide you on which patient appointment types can be conducted virtually.

  • Utilize e-Check-in for touchless appointment check-in. This keeps our offices safer and speeds up the overall visit process.

  • Complete e-Check-in prior to coming into an office or beginning a virtual visit.

  • Wear a face covering to protect yourself and others. Examples include: surgical mask, cloth mask, bandana, scarf, neck gaiter, or clothing without holes.
  • Practice the appropriate hand-washing techniques and utilize sanitizers that contain at least 60% alcohol directly before and immediately after your appointment. We are equipped with these materials.

  • Minimize overcrowding by asking anyone accompanying you to your appointment to please wait in the car or somewhere outside of our waiting room.
