If you see an ACPNY PCP, can you see a specialty care provider outside of ACPNY?

AdvantageCare Physicians has excellent specialists within our practice, as well as a preferred network of specialists outside of our practice. All the specialists we work with must demonstrate the highest standards for quality and excellence in customer service. Your primary care provider will work with you to identify the appropriate specialist for your medical needs both within and outside of ACPNY.

If you want to see a specialty care provider in ACPNY, how do you get the referral or is a referral even needed?

Your primary care provider will determine the clinical need for specialty care. If your insurance plan requires a referral for specialty visits, your primary care provider and Care Team will work together to issue the required referrals before your scheduled specialty care visit.

If you need a referral, how long does it take to get one and to see and an ACPNY specialty care provider?

Referrals for urgent care can be processed on the same day; in general, most approved referral requests are processed within 48 hours. Our Care Team staff is available to assist in scheduling urgent and routine specialty appointments.
