COVID-19 Testing

COVID Testing Update: AdvantageCare Physicians is offering COVID testing to established patients only, by appointment, following a telehealth or office visit to assess the need for COVID testing. AdvantageCare Physicians does not offer travel-related testing or testing to return to work.

You may purchase at-home rapid tests at many retail locations or pharmacies*. Or, visit the federal government website to order free tests.

*Consult your health plan about reimbursement.

Testing for COVID-19 is also widely available throughout New York State. Please call the New York State COVID-19 Hotline at 1-888-364-3065 or visit the NYSDOH website.

At AdvantageCare Physicians we want to ensure the safety of our

communities. That’s why we are helping to provide

testing to those who need it most.

Please review our Q&A regarding COVID-19 testing.

ACPNY offers both diagnostic (including rapid) and antibody testing. After a clinical screening visit (virtual or telephonic), a provider will determine which test is appropriate for the patient..

A diagnostic test determines if a patient is currently infected with COVID-19..

An antibody test screens for antibodies in the blood and reveals if a patient had the virus at some point in the past. Your body makes antibodies when it fights an infection, like COVID-19.

A patient who is referred for antibody testing will be provided with Quest Diagnostics contact information to self-schedule a lab appointment.

  1. Testing is by appointment only. ACPNY does not offer walk-in testing.
  2. You must first complete a clinical screening (virtual or telephonic visit) with an ACPNY provider. Please sign in to your myACPNY patient portal to schedule this initial appointment. If you don’t have a myACPNY patient portal, click here to register for an account. Once you have an account, you can proceed to schedule.
  3. Based on the screening assessment, a patient may be scheduled for a diagnostic test at one of our select ACPNY offices or be instructed to schedule an antibody test through Quest Diagnostics.

You may purchase at-home rapid tests at many retail locations or pharmacies*. Or, visit the federal government website to order free tests.

*Consult your health plan about reimbursement.

Testing is offered at the following offices by appointment only (no walk-ins) by calling 866-749-2660.

Patients who are advised to get an antibody test by an ACPNY provider will be provided information to schedule an appointment at a Quest Diagnostics lab location of their choosing.

Regardless of insurance coverage, there are no out-of-pocket costs to patients for the tests, and the tests are free for uninsured New Yorkers.*

*Beyond the described COVID-19 testing, any additional care or services provided by ACPNY or its partners will be billed separately. See here for a list of insurance coverages accepted by ACPNY.

Note to Insurance Plans: The fee schedule to be used for COVID-19 tests is $60 when a rate is not otherwise negotiated.

Diagnostic tests: Aside from rapid tests, most patients will receive their results within 1-2 days.

Antibody tests: Please refer to Quest Diagnostics for specific turnaround times. ACPNY providers receive the results first and then communicate them to their patient.
