COVID-19 Vaccine

If you’re not immunized, you’re not fully protected against COVID-19. It’s time to get vaccinated by making an appointment at ACPNY (call 646-680-4227), or visiting one of the many NY State sites or NYC sites or retail locations.

COVID-19 vaccines will be approved for distribution to patients over a months-long process. We want to help you understand when, where, and how to seek a vaccination when the time is right. And, we’re offering guidance on how to stay safe and healthy until--and even after--you are vaccinated.

ACPNY has begun to receive and administer COVID-19 vaccines to specific groups in accordance with the federal and state guidelines. For most patients, appointments for vaccinations will not start for several weeks, depending on eligibility. To see if you are currently eligible to receive the vaccine, please refer to the latest guidance by New York City and New York State.

If you are part of an eligible group, you can schedule an appointment by calling our Call Center at 646-680-4227.

We ask that you do not contact ACPNY about scheduling a vaccination appointment if you are not within a federal and state defined eligibility group. If you are not in an eligible group an appointment cannot be scheduled. Your patience is important because we want to keep our Call Center and appointment scheduling systems open for patients seeking care.

ACPNY administers approved vaccines supplied by NYC and NYS government agencies. We encourage eligible patients to become immunized at their earliest opportunity with any of the available vaccines, whether or not it is administered by ACPNY.

For forms and preparation-related information, choose the type of vaccine you will receive at your appointment.

Following your COVID-19 vaccine, you will be required to remain in the office for 15-30 minutes. Our nursing team will observe you and assess for any serious adverse reactions.  These are rare.  During the observation period, you will receive your Moderna vaccine card and the team will assist you in scheduling your second vaccine appointment.

Viruses commonly change through mutation and new variants are expected over time. The new variants of COVID-19 are reported to spread more easily and quickly. Scientists are working hard to learn more about them.

Early reports found no evidence to suggest that the variant has an impact on the vaccine’s intended results (efficacy). Preliminary research released from the makers of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines show that the vaccine provides some protection from the new COVID-19 variants.

It’s important to continue taking all precautions. Getting both doses of either vaccine on time is just one of the ways you can help prevent the spread of COVID-19. After getting the vaccine, the best ways to help keep you and your family safe from COVID-19 are to:

  • Wash your hands often and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  • Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when around others. Some experts are now suggesting wearing two masks.
  • Avoid crowds and stay at least six feet away from people outside of your household.
  • Monitor your health for any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
