Dermatology

Dermatology is a branch of medicine dedicated to conditions of the skin, nails, and hair. Dermatologists can identify and treat conditions ranging from cosmetic to life-threatening, including:

  • Acne
  • Dermatitis and eczema
  • Skin cancer
  • Rosacea

Patients should consider seeing a Dermatologist if they have a family history of skin cancer, or notice a mole change size, shape, or color as this may indicate cancer. Dermatologists can also treat acne or rashes that won’t go away with over-the counter treatments. They also teach patients preventive measures to improve their skin care habits. If necessary, Dermatologists can perform a wide variety of procedures, including:

  • Biopsies
  • Cryotherapy
  • Lesion removal
  • Mohs surgery
  • Skin grafts

Collaboration with Advanced Dermatology

To ensure our patients have convenient access to dermatology care and related services, ACPNY collaborates with Advanced Dermatology, whose providers and services are located in several of ACPNY’s office locations.

If you feel the need to see a Dermatologist, please talk to your Primary Care Provider.
